Sam Patton

Broker

Sam Patton started sailing as a teenager as something to do when the wind was up and the waves were bad. Sailing quickly became his number one passion, and he spent almost every day sailing his Hobie 16 in and around Kaneohe Bay. When he got to college at the University of Hawaii, he convinced the sailing coach to let him on the team, where he learned everything he could about racing. Since then, he has immersed himself in sailing and racing as a whole. Competing in multiple college national championships as a skipper and crew. Sam is very active in the local racing scene in Waikiki and Kaneohe in everything from skiffs to bigger keel boats.

Favorite Yachting Experience:

I love all things sailing, but especially racing. In one of my favorite races, we were surfing down to Kauai at over 20 knots. Nothing is more fun than flying down waves, and doing everything you can to keep the keel under the rig.
