Hawaii Yacht Club

Hawaii Yacht Club is a historic organization established in 1901, making it among the oldest and most storied clubs in Hawaii. HYC is located within the Ala Wai Harbor in Waikiki on the island of O'ahu. In the spirit of its home, the Club is a true "gathering place" offering a variety of social events, educational and recreational programs, a full bar and galley, a Ships Store with exclusive HYC merchandise, and wonderful activities such as the famous Friday Night Races, hosted by Hawaii Yacht Club for over 80 years.

  • May assign 4 employees to membership

Electricity

There are 30 amp plug ins for member vessels as well as guest vessels on the Aloha Dock.

General Rules

Hawaii Yacht Club is a private Club open to members and guests. There are house rules that apply to all those on property.

H20

  • Initiation Fees: $100
  • Monthly Dues: $52
  • Must be 18 years old
  • Endorsed by 2 members
  • $75 quarterly Spend
  • One front gate card
  • 3 guests per day
  • Unlimited use of the club's facilities
  • Access to all events
  • 3 hrs per quarter of volunteerism

Intermediate

  • Initiation Fee: $50
  • Yearly Dues: $206
  • Must be between 18 - 28 yrs old
  • Full time student, be in the military or have the endorsement of 2 HYC Members
  • Limited to one front gate card

Junior

  • Initiation Fee: $10
  • Yearly Dues: $46
  • Must be 8-17 years old
  • May invite guests for HYC junior events
  • Special rate for youth sailing program
  • Automatic enroll for dependent children of regular, senior, or life members, and if not, must fill out an application for approval

Live Aboard

Full time liveaboards are not permitted. However visiting yachts may stay onboard their vessel overnight while docked at the Club.

Visting or guest yachts are typically charged $2/ft/day.

Recreational

Regular

  • Initiation Fee: $660
  • Quarterly Dues: $335
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Endorsed by 2 HYC members
  • Includes Voting privileges, Spouse card, Slip rental/waitlist, Guest privileges (Up to 7), Party hosting privileges
  • $150 per quarter spending in the club (mini charge)

Restrooms

There are private mens and women's restrooms and showers in the Clubhouse on the first floor.

Security

Hawaii Yacht Club is a private gated Club with locked dry storage areas for its members.

Vehicle Parking

There is parking available for $1/ hr through the parking kiosks or paid through the QR code on the signs in the harbor. There is free parking until 10pm in the surfer's lot which is at the SE end of the Ala Wai Harbor (approximately a 5 minute walk). There is also permit parking available for those harbor users with boats.

Wait List

Any member except Honorary and Non-Resident members may apply for and retain position on wet and dry mooring lists. Only Senior and Life members may be designated as “active” on the list for wet mooring assignment.

There is currently a waiting list for all slips at HYC. To be added to the waitlist, please fill out an application and turn it into the Front Office.
