The design is well regarded andWauquiez produced 212 Pretorien 35s between 1979 and 1987. The vessel is considered well suited for oceanpassagemaking. Auxiliary propulsion is provided by a Yanmar 30 Hp diesel and she carries 25 gallons of fueland 66 gallons of fresh water. On deck, starting forward, is a stainless steel bow rail, Harken roller furling unit,below deck anchor locker, and 12 vdc anchor windless with foot controls. The addition of a removable innerforestay allows for a staysail. The decks are secured withaluminum toe rail mounted stainless steel lifelinestanchions with double courses of wire lifelines. The lowprofile cabin trunk slopes up from the foredeck and hasfixed windows along the sides and opening deck hatches,cabin ventilators, and teak handrails on top. Further aft,the cockpit is arranged with bench seating aft and oneach side. The starboard bench seat opens to a largecockpit locker. The port cockpit bench opens to the LPGtank locker. The aft bench seats open to the steering gearand additional storage. The cockpit has a stainless steeldodger and bimini, with a filler piece in between, andalso has zippered side enclosures and flexible solarpanels fitted on top. The pedestal helm has been removedand a tiller has been fitted onto the rudder post. Customaluminum brackets allow a filler piece and cushion to be fitted over the cockpit well, allowing for a queen-sizedcockpit berth. A Monitor self-steering wind vane is fitted to the transom. The centerline sliding companionwayhatch at the forward side of the cockpit leads down into the cabin, which is arranged with V-berth cabinforward, followed by enclosed head to starboard. The head has two doors and can be accessed from the forwardcabin or salon. The salon area is arranged with straight settee to port and U-shaped settee to starboard. A teaktable has leaves that allow for seating on each side. The forward facing navigation deck is aft of the port settee,followed by a door that leads into a quarter cabin with double berth. Opposite the navigation desk is the U-shaped galley with two-burner LPG stove with oven, top-loading reefer, and single stainless steel sink. Theengine compartment is accessed by removing the companionway steps and by a removable panel in thestarboard cockpit locker.
