This Beneteau 423 has been professionally maintained for its life under the original owner. S/V "Sierra" has sailed all over the West Coast in the Bahahaha Mexico Race and has cruised up and down the California Coast before making her way to Hawaii in the 2016 Pacific Cup Race. She is set up for shorthanded sailing with upgrades rarely seen on a boat of this stature. Everything has been custom designed and put together by the current owner. This might be the nicest, most put together Beneteau on the market today.
The upgrades are too many to detail individually, but some of what to expect are complete off grid charging with dual wind generators and brand new solar charging system. The air conditioning runs off one of the two inverters below at the dock or on the water. The sails have been custom built and configured for cruising. There are three (3) jibs on two roller furler head stays. The 90% jib is set up as the workhorse with a dual genoa that can be winged out to both port and starboard on dual poles for dead downwind sailing. The load points have been reinforced with backing plates added at the bow and in the new jib tracks on both sides.
Below the white leather upholstery is brand new and the teak and holly flooring is immaculate. The boat looks 10 years newer than her age. Below she has all the creature comforts including two large bunks and private toilets for each cabin. The galley has an icemaker and all the creature comforts.
This is a boat capable of being a world cruiser.
